DESCRIPTION
Kevin Champeny Studio ~3 studio days/week + remote $3,200-$4,000 per month. Port Washington, New York
Kevin Champeny Studio is hiring a Social Media Content Creator & Manager to run the artist's channels day to day. Reporting directly to Kevin and the studio manager, you will shoot on-site, edit, publish, and scale the accounts.
Kevin builds monumental mosaic works out of tens of thousands of hand-cast urethane sculptures; the mesmerizing process is the content. Your mission is to capture that tactile process and translate it into high-performing, fine-art short-form video nearly every day.
This is an autonomous, hands-on production role:
- 60% Production & Editing (short-form Reels, TikToks, Shorts)
- 25% Content planning, platform trends, publishing, and community triage
- 15% Archival and portfolio photography of finished works
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce, edit, and publish original daily content for all Kevin Champeny social media channels, including YouTube (Shorts), Facebook, Threads, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram (including Stories, Reels).
- Maintain a weekly content calendar for all platforms
- Research and identify platform trends and create on-trend content
- Photograph completed works cleanly and consistently for the website, sales materials, and collector inquiries
- Originate recurring formats and social-first series
- Repurpose old footage when applicable into newly edited videos
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of professional social media experience
- Native fluency on Instagram and TikTok, with a track record of growing an account.
- Confident operating a professional camera, lighting, and audio in a working studio
- Editing experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or CapCut; comfortable with color, sound design, and captions
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Previous experience in the art world is NOT required.
- Ability to turn same-day footage into a same-day post
- Strong sense of pacing, hooks, and platform-native storytelling for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts
- Self-directed and organized; able to keep a calendar, hit a cadence, and work with minimal supervision
- Experience with photography of artwork or products for print and web a plus
- Experience with email tools (Mailchimp, Flodesk, Substack, or similar) a plus
- Interest in and knowledge of contemporary art, design, or collecting a plus
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
- $3,200-$4,000 per month, depending on experience
- Roughly three studio days per week, flexing around what's being built and the artist's schedule, plus remote editing and posting
- Studio camera, lighting, and audio provided on-site
